Rippin' Foamies Yak-54, Revision A

This was my first indoor design in late 2004.  It turned out to be one of my best.  Beginners luck, I guess.  It is designed for indoor 3D and can do it all in a normal sized basketball court.  Flight characteristics are very good with very little knife-edge coupling.  It is all 3mm Depron with some CF reinforcement.  Here are the specs:

Wingspan: 32 1/8"
Weight:  6.5 -7 ounces

Recommended Equipment:

Motor:  AXI 2204/54 (25.9 grams)
Servos:  3 x 4-6 gram sub-micro servos
Prop:  GWS 9x4.7 SF (with AXI 2204/54 on 2s1p Lipo)
GWS 8x4.7 SF (with AXI 2204/54 on 3s1p Lipo)
RX:  Berg Microstamp (6 gram)
ESC:  Castle Creations Phoenix 10 (6 grams)
Battery:  2s1p 730mah Thunderpower (34 grams)
             3s1p 33Omah Kokam (34 grams)
Antenna:  Ecubed Micro

Required materials:

3mm Depron, 1.5 mm CF rod, 3mm x .8mm CF strip, tape, Dubro micro control horns.

Note:  These plans are not of the quality of my "for sale" plans but still OK.

Rippin' Foamies Yak-54, Revision C

This was my third indoor design in early 2005.  The "B" model was a bust - bigger is not necessarily better!  This Rev. C design is smaller and lighter than the Rev. A Yak.  I like the smaller size for smaller flying venues.  Performance is excellent with a snappy roll rate and minimal knife-edge coupling.

Wingspan: 31"
Weight:  6-6.5 ounces

Recommended Equipment:

Motor:  AXI 2204/54 (25.9 grams)
Servos:  3 x 4-5 gram, sub-micro servos
Prop:  GWS 9x4.7 SF (with AXI 2204/54 on 2s1p Lipo)
RX:  Berg Microstamp (6 gram)
ESC:  Castle Creations Phoenix 10 (6 grams)
Battery:  2s1p 730mah Thunderpower (34 grams)
Antenna:  Ecubed R/C Micro

Required materials:

3mm Depron, 1.5 mm CF rod, 3mm x .8mm CF strip, tape, Dubro micro control horns.

Note:  These plans are not of the quality of my "for sale" plans but still OK.
